Going Moroccan

Morocco has a lot to offer as an aspiring photographer. It’s fantastic landscapes from the Atlas Mountain range down to the Sahara Desert, it definitely does not disappoint. I believe the part of this amazing country that intrigued me the most is the fantastic vibe you get from the second you land. There’s nothing I have ever experienced quite like it, feeling like you have been dropped into the middle of an Indiana Jones film, just amazing! Marrakech was my first port of call, and although a tad intimidating, this city is a mysterious, beautiful place. The centre  of Marrakech -Djemaa el Fna is where its all happening.

After you get out of the city it becomes a completely different environment. You get a real taste of rural Moroccan life, friendly, so far from the city life.

Deep in the Sahara Desert the Berber people add another side to Morocco I didn’t anticipate encountering. They were most welcoming, playing drums for us, chatting, telling tales and giving us camel rides.

Although great fun, camel riding was not what one would call a comfortable experience. In fact, the ride ripped through my jeans…..Nevertheless, this camel in particular had a personality like no other.

Moroccan Spices at their finest…Cannot beat that!
